The second generation of the Volvo XC90 was introduced in 2014 and received a mid-life refresh in 2019. Recently, the Swedish luxury brand has made further improvements to this model with the 2025 version (Photo: Volvo).

As this is the second facelift, the XC90 2025 is not a completely redesigned model, but there are noticeable changes compared to the previous version. The grille no longer has vertical bars but is replaced with diagonal lines (Photo: Volvo).

The signature "Thor's hammer" headlights of Volvo are still present in the XC90 2025, but they have been modernized. The "hammer handle" is extended to blend into the expanded grille. The air intake and front bumper have been redesigned, giving the front end of the XC90 2025 a somewhat electric vehicle feel (Photo: Volvo).

The changes to the sides and rear of the new XC90 are minimal. However, for those who are familiar with Volvo vehicles, they may notice that the 2025 version features darker tinted taillights with flatter, more modern graphics. The rear bumper also integrates more seamlessly into the rear, reducing the focus on the exhaust pipes as a step in the electrification process (Photo: Volvo).

The set of wheels on the Volvo XC90 2025 has been updated, featuring double-spoke wheels with a sporty design. In addition to being available in 2 color options, these wheels also look more enclosed, with sizes ranging from 20, 21, to 22 inches (Photo: Volvo).

The interior of the new XC90 maintains a similar overall layout to the previous version. However, the design style has become flatter, with horizontal lines. A notable change is the central display screen increasing from 9 to 11.2 inches, slightly protruding from the dashboard (Photo: Volvo).

Volvo continues to adopt the vertical central display screen design, and in the 2025 version, it has higher pixel density and faster response time than the previous model. Additionally, the user interface and experience have been improved similar to the versions on the pure electric EX30 and EX90 models. The software is built on Google's platform (Photo: Volvo).

The Bowers & Wilkins sound system remains a "specialty" of Volvo, and in the XC90 2025, the speaker grille has been updated. To enhance the experience, the company has added layers of materials to increase soundproofing. The interior lighting has also been improved (Photo: Volvo).

According to the manufacturer, the suspension system has been updated with the new Frequency Selective Damping shock absorbers. It will adjust the damping system according to each condition to increase comfort while maintaining stability during operation (Photo: Volvo).

The powertrain in the Volvo XC90 2025 version remains the same, including options for the B6 engine with a mild-hybrid system generating 300 horsepower. The T8 version is a plug-in hybrid engine, with a total output of 462 horsepower and the ability to travel approximately 77 km on electric power when fully charged (Photo: Volvo).

In the North American market, the Volvo XC90 2025 will be available at dealerships from early next year, with a starting price of $59,745 for the B5 model (approximately 1.48 billion VND), an increase of about $1,850 compared to the current model. In Vietnam, the XC90 is currently priced at 4.05 billion VND for the B6 Inscription version and 4.65 billion VND for the T8 Recharge version (Photo: Volvo).
