Synology introduces AI-integrated office suite tools specifically designed for users utilizing the company's NAS data storage system during Computex 2024 event sidelines. The Synology Office Suite is expected to be officially announced in late 2024.
Users can proactively add AI models according to their needs and usage purposes. Currently, Synology Office Suite supports connection to OpenAI chatbot, Azure OpenAI, and Gemini.
After connecting to an AI chatbot, users can make requests through brief text descriptions without needing to execute complex structured commands.
On the right side, AI will provide suggestions and brief summaries of solutions to user requests. Meanwhile, the central area will present the entire content that AI performs. Users can also request AI to convert the created text into different languages.
For spreadsheet tools, users only need to provide specific requests in text. AI will automatically search and apply formulas that match those requests.
Similarly, based on user requests, AI will create presentation slides. The more detailed the user's description, the closer the result will match the request. Testing a request to create a 12-page education-themed presentation, AI can complete it in about 15 seconds.
Synology stated that sensitive personal information such as names or email addresses will be recognized and encrypted by the company's NAS system before AI processing. This is to ensure privacy and information security for users.
