Choosing the MG RX5 against the crowd brings many benefits to users

"With a budget of around 700 million VND, excluding rolling costs, I didn't have many options, I could only aim for a B-segment SUV. But during my research, I found that MG RX5 was discounted quite deeply at the dealership, somewhere around only 690 million VND for the LUX version. With the price of a B-segment SUV, you could buy a C-segment car, so it also sparked my interest," Mr. Ha shared.

A model worth experiencing, bringing many practical values.

Not being a first-time car buyer, Mr. Ha set specific criteria for his second car.

"My main need is driving in the city, but due to work reasons, now and then I need to travel to other provinces, not to mention my family has just had a second grandchild, so I also need a car with more spacious seating and luggage space. I also wanted to experience something a bit new, so I chose the MG RX5," Mr. Ha shared.

"MG in Vietnam is still a relatively new brand, but I see it as a large and long-standing international brand, so I somewhat trust it. When I visited the showroom to learn about the RX5, I was quite impressed, the quality of the finish was better than I thought, the doors closed tightly.

The sporty design made me decide right away, after all, the car is mainly for city driving, so it needs to look a bit beautiful. One of the things I really like about the LUX version of the RX5 is the 19-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, this tire line is quite premium," Mr. Ha said.

Not only satisfying in terms of looks, the MG RX5 also brings Mr. Ha many values, especially in terms of the interior. "In terms of space, the RX5 meets my criteria, two rows of seats are comfortable and spacious, the headroom is also high, the second row of seats can recline deeply, making long journeys quite comfortable. The LUX version also has a panoramic sunroof, so it feels relatively airy."

The modern interior of the car is spacious, the 12.3-inch instrument cluster behind the steering wheel displays sharp and offers multiple interfaces. The 14.1-inch infotainment screen operates quite smoothly, but it takes time to get used to adjusting the air conditioning, as the car does not have physical knobs or buttons.

"I highly appreciate the seats of the RX5, the thick cushion is quite comfortable and hugs the body. The feeling of holding the steering wheel is also good because the leather is perforated, providing good grip. However, if the company equips paddle shifters, it would be even better," Mr. Ha commented.

In terms of performance, the strength of the MG RX5 lies in the mid-range of the C-segment SUV segment, with a maximum output of 168 horsepower from the turbocharged 1.5L engine. However, this model has better towing power than its rivals (excluding hybrid cars), specifically with a maximum torque of 275 Nm.

"I just got the car in April, so I haven't experienced much. The initial impression is quite good for a family car, the start-up still has a slight delay, but this is a characteristic of turbocharged engines, so I don't see any issues.

One thing I really like is the 7-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission, which combines smoothly with the engine. Driving on the highway at high speeds, the car still feels powerful, accelerating relatively smoothly," Mr. Ha said.

Mr. Ha also mentioned about the suspension system, the MG RX5 is not a car designed specifically for tight corners. When driving aggressively, the car has a fairly large body roll, but if driving normally, it is comfortable and pleasant at a moderate level, without being too bouncy.

"The safety features of the RX5 are sufficient for me to use. The car has a 360-degree camera, quite clear and responsive, with four reverse sensors, so basically it meets daily usage needs," Mr. Ha shared.

MG RX5 - a valuable choice within the price range.

With the above factors and the price often being discounted at the dealership, Mr. Ha believes that the MG RX5 is a car worth experiencing.

"Overall, for the price, I think the RX5 is a great deal. Beautiful design, spacious, powerful and smoother operation than a B-segment car.

In terms of durability, it will take time to test. I don't think this will be a big issue as the car has an unlimited mileage warranty for up to 5 years and also comes with MG Care rescue services for 5 years," Mr. Ha said.
