Specifically, the 2025 Mazda CX-50 is equipped with Toyota's hybrid system, including a 2.5L 4-cylinder gasoline engine combined with 3 electric motors, an electronic continuously variable transmission (e-CVT), and a small battery pack. This system provides the crossover with all-wheel drive, delivering 219 horsepower and 221Nm of torque.

Although the hybrid system is provided by Toyota, Mazda stated that its engineers have fine-tuned most of the important details, such as throttle response, to ensure the smooth driving experience that the CX-50 is known for.
In terms of appearance, the CX-50 Hybrid differs from the standard internal combustion engine version in the front bumper design and the specially designed 17 or 19-inch wheels. Only the interior of the hybrid version is upholstered in red leather.
Mazda claims that the CX-50 Hybrid has an average fuel consumption of only 6.2 liters/100km, which is 2 liters/100km less than the standard version.
In addition to the all-new hybrid version, the 2025 CX-50 also has some other upgrades, such as integrating Amazon Alexa assistant on all versions. This crossover is also equipped with additional safety features such as rear seat warning, rear collision warning when reversing, and an upgraded version of the smart brake support system that can detect pedestrians at night as well as a forward collision avoidance technology.

There are not many changes, but Mazda has adjusted some equipment packages for the highest trim level - the CX-50 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus. Specifically, this version is now equipped with a vehicle cut-through warning system.
Under the hood, the 2.5 S versions still feature the familiar 2.5L engine, delivering 187 horsepower and 251Nm of torque. However, fuel consumption has slightly decreased to 9.4 liters/100km in city driving, 7.6 liters/100km on the highway, and 8.4 liters/100km combined.
If higher power is desired, customers can opt for the turbocharged 2.5L 4-cylinder engine, producing a maximum of 256 horsepower and 433Nm of torque. These figures decrease to 227 horsepower and 420Nm of torque when running on E87 gasoline.
