Minh Khuê admits to being quirky and childish while filming 'The Ugly Girl'

During the program "Confessional Words," actress Minh Khuê mentioned her role as Hương in the movie "The Ugly Girl." She revealed that even now, many viewers still remember her character.

The successful role brought her many experiences but also taught her lessons that she regrets to this day. At that time, Minh Khuê was not prepared for that level of success, so she did not appreciate the opportunities she had.

"At the age of 22, I had a childish, impulsive personality, making decisions based on emotions. Now at 39, I have matured a lot, appreciate what I have, and lower my expectations. I lost many opportunities in my youth due to immaturity," Minh Khuê said.

In 2006, the actress decided to stop her artistic activities due to the pain of losing her mother. She felt disconnected from her job and emotionally drained. During the 6 years of hiatus from acting, Minh Khuê did various jobs to make a living, and selling insurance gave her valuable skills.

In 2022, Minh Khuê returned to Ho Chi Minh City to meet friends. Through a referral from an acquaintance, she accepted a small guest role which led her back to the screen with various roles.

Feeling energized again, Minh Khuê envisioned her mission to be linked to art. The role of the antagonist Nhật Mai in "Sunset on the Day" was a significant milestone for Minh Khuê as she returned to acting.

Minh Khuê shared: "When returning to the profession, I want to choose projects that I truly feel passionate about. I realize that my filmography lacks action and feature films. I was very nervous about auditioning for "Face Off 7" and was so anxious that I decided not to go."

However, her management company submitted her profile, and she was selected for the audition. At home, she thought about pretending to be sick and not attending due to the pressure, but then she decided to go with the flow. In the audition room, she naturally performed well and was chosen.

Minh Khuê feels like she has a special connection with the character Mai. Right from the start, she felt close to this role, but due to the scale of the project, she felt pressure during the filming days.

"Thanks to the encouragement of Lý Hải and producer Minh Hà, I overcame the pressure and gave my all to the film. I was surprised that viewers found my personal page, analyzed every detail in the film, and left long comments. They watched very attentively and could feel the character. I am grateful to myself for trying hard and not backing down," the actress revealed.

Prior to "Face Off 7: A Wish," Minh Khuê was also beloved by the public for her role in the movie "The Ugly Girl" (released in 2008). Additionally, she left a lasting impression on audiences through films like "Dear Nanny, For a Love, Messy Hair, My Wife is No. 1... "
