Mitsubishi Xforce is the best-selling SUV in the B and B+ segment in the first half of 2024. Surprisingly, there are still unsold units of the 2023 model year (VIN 2023) at some dealerships. To clear the inventory, some showrooms are offering discounts of up to almost 100 million VND for these vehicles.
The discounts may vary slightly depending on the location and the remaining inventory, with some showrooms having only 1 unit left. For example, a dealership in Hung Yen has only 1 white Xforce VIN 2023 Premium model (priced at 680 million VND); the car is being offered with an 80 million VND discount, accessories included, and a 1-year comprehensive insurance package.
However, the car was quickly sold within half an hour of being listed for sale, according to a sales consultant. Meanwhile, another showroom in Bac Ninh still has Xforce Premium VIN 2023 units available, with a discount of up to 90 million VND, bringing the actual selling price down to 590 million VND.

The 2023 Mitsubishi Xforce units are not different in terms of equipment from the 2024 units, but they may depreciate more when resold. Nevertheless, some customers are still willing to purchase them, especially with the large discounts offered at the dealerships.
Additionally, the Mitsubishi Xforce Premium is a high-end variant with a fairly comprehensive range of amenities. Compared to the top-of-the-line Ultimate variant (priced at 705 million VND), this version lacks features like power boot, Yamaha speaker system, and some Mitsubishi Safety Sensing (MMSS) active safety features.

Hyundai Creta, a competitor of Mitsubishi Xforce, is also offering significant discounts at dealerships, primarily for the 2023 model year units, mostly for the top-tier variant. The discount for this version ranges from 40-50 million VND depending on the location, with the lowest quoted price at a dealership in Hanoi: 649 million VND (50 million VND discount).

Despite being the best-selling SUV in the B and B+ segment in the first half of 2024 with a cumulative sales volume of 3,890 units, the position of Mitsubishi Xforce is still not entirely solid, as the Toyota Yaris Cross is putting pressure on this Japanese model. Specifically, the Yaris Cross sold a total of 3,760 units, trailing the Xforce by only 140 units.
In this segment, there are also the Nissan Kicks, MG ZS, Peugeot 2008, and Volkswagen T-Cross, but the distributors have not disclosed the sales figures for these models (Photo: Nguyen Lam).
The gap is not too large, and the Toyota Yaris Cross still has the chance to surpass the Xforce in the second half of 2024. Compared to this direct competitor, the Yaris Cross has fewer options, with only Petrol (650 million VND) and Hybrid (765 million VND) variants.
However, even the Petrol variant of the Yaris Cross comes with the Toyota Safety Sense active safety technology package. This is also the main variant, accounting for 92% of the total sales of the Japanese model in the first 6 months of 2024.
