The number of Xiaomi cars delivered to customers has increased significantly since the launch of the new SU7 model, thanks to the implementation of two production shifts in May (Illustrative image: CNC).

The number of Xiaomi cars delivered to customers has steadily increased from 7,058 units in April to 8,630 units in May and over 10,000 units in June. The Chinese technology corporation expects to deliver a similar or higher number of cars in July.

The current delivery pace aligns with the company's target of delivering 100,000-120,000 cars in 2024.

Xiaomi will offer gifts to customers who purchase the SU7 model as a form of compensation for having to wait at least 3 months to receive the car. The gifts include a free upgrade to Nappa leather seat covers, worth 8,000 Chinese yuan (about 28 million Vietnamese dong), and the activation of the autonomous driving feature for all SU7 versions.

This gift program from Xiaomi is applicable from July 1 to July 31 when customers make a deposit of 5,000 Chinese yuan (17.5 million Vietnamese dong).

In another development, images of the high-performance V8s variant of the Xiaomi SU7 being disguised and tested on the Nürburgring Nordschleife race track in Germany have surfaced.

The images show many upgrades in performance compared to the standard SU7 model, with possible upgrades in the chassis and braking system.

According to Xiaomi's previous announcement, the SU7 V8s model uses an electric motor capable of reaching a maximum power of nearly 1,000 horsepower. The car is expected to be officially launched in 2025.

Since its official debut on March 28, the Xiaomi SU7 model has caused a stir on both social media platforms and in real life. Some speculators have even made deposits and resold their SU7 car purchase slots at a price difference of up to 100,000 Chinese yuan (over 340 million Vietnamese dong).

The first car model from the Chinese technology corporation has dimensions of 4,997 x 1,963 x 1440 (mm), with a wheelbase of 3,000mm.

The Xiaomi SU7 Max is equipped with two electric motors, producing 663 horsepower, operated by energy supplied by the CATL Qilin 101kWh battery pack, providing a range of 800km per charge, according to China's CLTC standard.

In terms of design, the Xiaomi SU7 bears similarities to both Tesla Model 3 and Porsche Taycan, but still maintains its unique features. The coupe-style roof design gives the Xiaomi SU7 a drag coefficient of 0.195.

To design the SU7 model, Xiaomi hired Tianyuan Li, who was behind the impressive concept cars for BMW iX and iVision; James Qiu, who contributed to the design of the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX model; and "legendary" designer Chris Bangle from BMW.

Recent accidents involving SU7 cars on some race tracks in China have raised concerns about the quality of the cars. However, car owners are advised to understand the differences between racing cars and commercial vehicles, and to be cautious behind the wheel.
