Nha Trang expanded by 1,300 hectares

About 1,300 hectares from Dien Khanh district were merged into Nha Trang city, according to the newly approved project.

The project to adjust the general planning of Nha Trang city to 2040 was signed and approved by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on March 31.

Accordingly, after merging part of Dien Khanh district's land, the city has a total natural land area of about 26,700 hectares. Nha Trang's population is forecast to be about 750,000 people by 2040, an increase of more than 250,000 people compared to the present.

Regarding land, by 2030 the entire urban area will have nearly 10,000 hectares of construction land (average 156 m2/person), and by 2040 it will reach about 11,792 hectares (average 151 m2/person).

Nha Trang City will be the center for science and technology, education, training and healthcare, seaport services, tourism, trade and finance of the South Central Coast and Central Highlands; administrative, economic, cultural, scientific and technical center of Khanh Hoa; plays an important role in national defense and security and marine environmental protection.
