The film focuses on the Burning Sun scandal that shocked the Asian entertainment industry. In 2019, a series of crimes such as group sexual assault, voyeurism, sex trafficking, and creating sex chat groups to distribute videos of women being violated by Seungri, Jung Joon Young, Choi Jong Hoon, terrified the public.

Especially, on May 22, the South Korean media outlet XportsNews reported that Jung Joon Young - one of the leaders of Seungri's sex chat group - had met with industry officials.

According to close sources, the former idol expressed his desire to continue his music career as a producer. Officials also mentioned that Jung Joon Young is aware of the negative public reaction, so he wants to become a producer instead of continuing as a singer.

Jung Joon Young is said to have shown a serious attitude by contacting many people in advance and inviting them to participate in future music activities.

As soon as this information was released, the South Korean public expressed their views. Many called for a boycott of Jung Joon Young. They believed that the male artist did not show genuine remorse, and his past crimes made many people determined not to forgive him.

According to the documentary film Burning Sun - Exposing the secret Kpop chat groups, Jung Joon Young often filmed women, shared sensitive videos of girls, and made crude comments about the victims of sexual assault.

Jung Joon Young and his accomplices' modus operandi was to intoxicate the victims, record images of raping them, and share them in the sex chat group. The victims admitted that they almost lost their memories after being assaulted.

It is known that Jung Joon Young's phone contained hundreds of "dirty" messages and covertly filmed videos of women that Jung Joon Young shared with friends.

In 2016 before the Burning Sun scandal erupted, Jung Joon Young and some other individuals gang-raped a woman just before a fan meeting in Daegu, South Korea. The male singer casually commented on the rape incident in the sex chat group.

"My heart ached when I read the conversations in that sex chat group. The content was more horrifying than what I had imagined," journalist Kang Kyung Yoon - the first person to access data about the sex chat group - shared.

In 2019, Jung Joon Young was investigated and detained. The former idol was charged with gang rape in Gangwon and Daegu provinces in 2016, followed by illicitly filming and distributing videos during that time.

In 2019, the South Korean court sentenced Jung Joon Young to 6 years in prison. Later, the notorious artist's sentence was reduced to 5 years. Jung Joon Young was convicted of sexually assaulting women, illicitly filming and distributing videos in the sex chat group.

Aside from the 5-year sentence, Jung Joon Young also had to complete an 80-hour course on sexual violence. The court also ruled that within 5 years after his release, he was not allowed to work with children and adolescents.

In March earlier this year, Jung Joon Young was released from prison. To avoid the press, the once-famous artist wore a hat, a fully covered face mask, and remained silent as he left the prison.

Many opinions believe that Jung Joon Young was released from prison too soon and was not required to wear an electronic ankle monitor reserved for sex offenders. This is considered the key point that allowed Jung Joon Young to continue developing his music career without showing any remorse for his actions.

In the documentary Burning Sun - Exposing the secret Kpop chat, journalist Kang Kyung Yoon mentioned that Jung Joon Young planned to leave South Korea after his release from prison. She said, "I heard that this male singer is preparing to immigrate to another country." The source did not disclose Jung Joon Young's specific whereabouts.

Jung Joon Young (born in 1989) is a multi-talented star in the South Korean music scene. He has singing, songwriting, acting abilities, and has participated in many popular reality TV shows. He rose to fame when he joined the Superstar K program in 2012.

In 2013, he released his debut music and continued to release other high-quality music products. He also became a familiar face on the popular reality show 2 Days & 1 Night.

Before the 2019 sex scandal, Jung Joon Young was a talented idol star with a thriving career in the South Korean entertainment industry. Before going to prison, Jung Joon Young wrote a letter, apologizing to his fans, the victims, and requested to withdraw from the entertainment industry.
