Spending over 300 million VND: Should I buy a used Honda City or choose a new VinFast VF 3?

My primary need is for personal transportation, to take my child to school and then to work. The total daily travel distance is approximately 30km. I have a budget of 300 million VND available and my family does not want to borrow more money as we need resources to raise our 2 children.

Option 1 is to buy a used car, and I am considering the Honda City. With this budget, I could buy a 2015 model with over 100,000 kilometers. Since I prefer Japanese cars for used ones, excluding Toyota. Will a car this old have too many issues, and will the maintenance and care costs be too high after purchasing?

The second option is to buy a new car, with the only choice in this category being the VinFast VF 3. The product is not yet on sale, but based on online reviews, it seems to have decent space. If I buy it, I will also choose the battery option, so I only need to pay for charging in the future instead of worrying about monthly subscriptions.

VinFast VF 3 is available for pre-order and is expected to be delivered in the third quarter of this year (Photo: VF).

However, I still have concerns about electric cars in general, as well as the quality of VinFast specifically. Additionally, I am worried about the functionality, durability, especially for a mini car like the VF 3.

Please advise me!
