Top SUVs under 15 billion VND for Vietnamese customers

In the Vietnamese market, the SUV segment with a price range of 1.5 billion VND is often highly classified because customers who choose to buy vehicles in this segment have high standards. In addition to factors such as performance and spaciousness, the brand and features are also important considerations.

Hyundai Palisade (1,469 - 1,589 billion VND)

As Hyundai's flagship product in Vietnam, the Palisade embodies the leading technologies of the Korean automaker. The front of the vehicle features a geometric "Cascading Grill" grille with layered slats, which are both aesthetically pleasing and aerodynamically optimized.

The sturdy front bumper combined with the "eye" style front lights and the T-shaped LED daytime running lights give the vehicle a commanding presence. The Palisade has dimensions of 4,995 mm x 1,975 mm x 1,750 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,900mm.

Inside, the Palisade impresses with a technologically rich interior space and high-quality finishes. The 12.3-inch center display connects to Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 360-degree camera, HUD display, electronic parking brake, etc.

The ergonomic driver's seat on the Palisade is inspired by the luxury Genesis lineup. Both the first and second-row seats are equipped with cooling and heating functions. The headrests and armrests can be adjusted for angle, aiming to increase comfort for passengers. The second-row seats can be configured as either a 2-seat executive style or a 3-seat setup like conventional vehicles.

The Palisade is equipped with a 2.2L diesel engine producing 200 horsepower and a maximum torque of 440Nm. The vehicle uses an 8-speed automatic transmission and 4-wheel drive system. The midsize SUV comes with 4 drive modes: Eco, Comfort, Sport, Smart, and 3 terrain modes: Snow, Sand, Mud.

For safety, the Palisade integrates the SmartSense system with features such as lane-keeping assist, forward collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, adaptive automatic headlights, driver fatigue warning, automatic parking assist, blind-spot collision avoidance and monitoring, tire pressure sensors.

With a price range of 1,469 - 1,589 billion VND, the Palisade is the most accessible E-segment SUV in terms of pricing. The vehicle also benefits from reduced registration fees as it is locally assembled by Hyundai, making the on-road price significantly lower compared to competitors.

Ford Explorer (2,099 billion VND)

Ford Explorer was launched in Vietnam in January 2022, and at the time of its launch, this model attracted a large number of consumers. However, the product from the American brand has gradually lost its appeal. The price of 2,099 billion VND is not yet truly competitive, even though it has been reduced by more than 200 million VND compared to before.

In the new generation, the Ford Explorer features a more modern and robust design. The front grille is connected to a large LED headlight strip. The front bumper is equipped with a protective steel plate and chrome plating.

Built on a new unibody structure, the Ford Explorer is 90 kg lighter than its predecessor. The wheelbase has increased from 2,866 mm to 3,025 mm, allowing for a more comfortable interior space for passengers.

The vehicle comes with 20-inch wheels, non-rim tires. Sculpted lines run along the body vertically. Similar to the previous version, the new generation of the Explorer features a square rear design.

The Ford Explorer still comes with an 8-inch infotainment screen, 3-zone air conditioning, a 6.5-inch digital instrument cluster behind the steering wheel. Ford has enhanced the soundproofing materials between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment. The vehicle is also equipped with wireless phone charging, a 12-speaker 700W Harman Kardon sound system with air filtration.

The Ford Explorer uses a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, but the power has been increased from 273 horsepower to 301 horsepower, and the maximum torque from 420 Nm to 431.5 Nm. It replaces the 6-speed transmission with a new 10-speed automatic transmission, along with a full-time 4-wheel drive system.

The vehicle is equipped with adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist and warning, automatic headlights, blind-spot and cross-traffic warning, as well as automatic emergency braking, and a 360-degree camera.

Volkswagen Teramont X (1,998 - 2,168 billion VND)

Classified in the E-size SUV segment, the new generation Teramont X only has a 5-seat configuration. The vehicle features a sporty and distinctive design compared to its predecessor. The Platinum version is equipped with the R-Line sport package with many glossy black details, such as the grille, mirror covers, wheels, window surrounds, etc.

A standout feature is the IQ.Light LED Matrix lighting system with a 2-tier structure, integrating advanced technologies such as 4 adaptive lighting modes and light blind spot support, making driving safer and easier at night.

The Volkswagen Teramont X has dimensions of 4,917 x 1,989 x 1,729 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,980 mm. The coupe-style vehicle has a sloping C-pillar, providing a more youthful and modern look.

Modern features of the vehicle include a 12-inch infotainment system, a 12-speaker 700W Harman Kardon sound system. The front seats are 8-way power-adjustable, with cooling and heating functions. The rear seats have a central air vent, floor vents, heating function, and individual charging ports.

The "heart" of the Volkswagen Teramont X is a 2.0 TSI Turbo engine with a maximum output of 220 horsepower and maximum torque of 350 Nm. It features a new-generation 7-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive system.

The safety features of the vehicle include adaptive cruise control, automatic parking assist, distracted driver warning, lane change assist, forward collision warning integrated with emergency braking, blind spot warning, tire pressure monitoring, 9 airbags, etc.

The Chinese origin is the biggest barrier that makes the Teramont X difficult to compete with rivals like Ford Explorer or Hyundai Palisade.
