Recently, singer Tung Duong posted a video of him covering the song "Sau lời từ khước" by composer Phan Manh Quynh. The song has become the soundtrack of the movie "Mai" produced by Trấn Thành and has gained popularity among many fans.
In the comments section, Tung Duong received many compliments on his singing. However, one comment that caught attention was believed to be from singer Ha Tran (account name Ha Tran).

The account named "Ha Tran" left two words: "No shame" and directly tagged the Facebook account JJ Wang - this is Trấn Thành's personal account used only in close friendships.
Ha Tran had previously covered "Sau lời từ khước."
In response to the comment from her senior, Tung Duong replied. According to the male singer, in previous shows, the producer wanted him to sing this song, but he said he had to get the author's permission before singing. This time, the producer also requested him to sing and asked for the author's opinion, securing the copyright. Phan Mạnh Quỳnh's team agreed. Tung Duong affirmed that he did not sing without permission.
"Actually, with a song that has at least 5,7 different versions already covered by many colleagues, there's no need to think or comment heavily, right? Each version brings a different color to the work, the more the merrier, so why did sister Ha speak so harshly?" Tung Duong commented.
Dân trí contacted singers Ha Tran and Tung Duong but has not received a response.
Sharing with Dân trí about this controversy, producer Ruby Ngoc - representing the organizing unit of the event where Tung Duong participated - said that before organizing the event, the team contacted composer Phan Manh Quynh to ask for permission for Tung Duong to sing "Sau lời từ khước." Phan Manh Quynh agreed and received the copyright fee for the song.
Not only "Sau lời từ khước" but all the songs in the event were requested for permission and paid for.
"We work very discreetly, if we haven't asked for permission and Phan Mạnh Quỳnh hasn't agreed, Tung Duong wouldn't have performed. If someone says Tung Duong is "shameless" like that, it's lacking in morals and respect for colleagues.
"Sau lời từ khước" belongs to Phan Mạnh Quỳnh, Trấn Thành is not the exclusive buyer of this song, so mentioning his name is not appropriate.
Currently, many artists still sing this song and when contacted, Phan Mạnh Quỳnh still agrees to perform. At the upcoming show on June 9, Tung Duong will still sing "Sau lời từ khước"...," said Ruby Ngoc.
Ruby Ngoc added: "Tung Duong sings "Sau lời từ khước" very well. This song has been granted permission by the author. He is not the one who should be ashamed, but the one who spoke wrongly."
According to her, Tung Duong is a civilized, relaxed, and... gentle person. When criticized harshly by his senior colleague, he still shows calmness and composure.
