Upcoming car lineup in November: Chinese cars gaining presence in Vietnam

At the end of the year, car manufacturers are focusing on promotional campaigns to boost sales while also introducing new products. Among these, the upcoming releases in November are mainly from China.

Wuling Bingo

According to sources, Wuling Bingo will have at least 2 commercial versions in Vietnam, both equipped with a 50kW (approximately 67 horsepower) engine with torque ranging from 125-150Nm depending on the variant.

These versions use LFP batteries with capacities of 31.9kWh and 37.9kWh, with a maximum range of 333km and 410km respectively. The car supports fast charging to 30-80% in about 30 minutes.

It is not clear if the Wuling Bingo will be imported or locally assembled similar to the Mini EV (Photo: Hai Nam).

Wuling Bingo is the second product from the Chinese brand after the Mini EV, so TMT Motors (the distributor) has high hopes for this product. However, there is controversy surrounding the expected selling price of the Bingo.

Specifically, based on images reportedly captured during a meeting between TMT Motors and the media, the 333km and 410km versions of the Bingo are expected to be priced at 470 million VND and 530 million VND respectively. These are not the official selling prices.

Externally, the Wuling Bingo is equipped with LED lights front/rear and LED daytime running lights. The interior is more modern than its "sibling" the Mini EV with a 7-inch multi-information display connected to a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, electronic parking brake with automatic hold function (Photo: Hai Nam).

In many advertising campaigns in previous months, TMT Motors emphasized that the Bingo would not be cheap. This is because the car has 4 doors, dimensions similar to A-segment cars, and more features than the Mini EV.

MG G50

Entering the mid-size MPV segment which is relatively quiet and less competitive, the MG G50 also attracts attention after being revealed at the Vietnam Motor Show (VMS) 2024. This Chinese model may be available for sale as early as November.

The specifications and versions of the MG G50 have not been disclosed yet, but there may be 2 variants, with the display model at VMS possibly being the higher end version. According to some sources from Dan Tri newspaper, the MG G50 could be priced around 500-600 million VND, comparable to a small MPV like the Mitsubishi Xpander (560-658 million VND).

Upon its official launch, the MG G50 will directly compete with the Toyota Innova Cross, Hyundai Custin, and GAC M6 Pro (Photo: Nguyễn Lâm).

This information is based on expert assessments. The reason is that the MG G50 displayed at VMS did not have many notable features.

Externally, the car has LED lights front/rear and 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior features a digital multi-information display, a 12.3-inch floating infotainment screen, automatic air conditioning, electronic parking brake, and some charging ports.

However, the MG G50 does not have advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like its competitors in the same segment. Therefore, this model may target customers in need of a vehicle for services or those looking for a spacious 7-seater at an optimal price.

Haval Jolion

First mentioned at the beginning of 2024 but yet to be launched, Haval Jolion is one of the most delayed models for Vietnamese consumers. However, some dealers have started taking deposits, so this Chinese model may be introduced in November.

Haval Jolion is positioned in the B+ crossover segment, competing with the Toyota Corolla Cross and Mazda CX-30. The company representatives mentioned that this model will be offered with 2 versions, with the standard variant expected to be priced below 700 million VND.

It is likely that the Haval Jolion will be imported from Thailand, similar to its "elder" the H6 HEV (Photo: Motortrivia).

If this information is accurate, the Haval Jolion will have a competitive advantage over its rivals, while also aiming to capture market share in the B-segment SUV category alongside models like the Mitsubishi Xforce or Hyundai Creta.

Regardless of the version, the Haval Jolion uses a hybrid powertrain, including a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine combined with an electric motor, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive. This configuration produces a maximum total output of 190 horsepower and a maximum torque of 375Nm.
