As covered by the Singaporean news site Mothership, an alleged screenshot from a Weibo account thought to be Quinlivan’s spread rapidly and gained significant attention on Thursday, attracting numerous online comments. The post in question implied Chou was involved in "multi-player sports," a euphemism for orgies.
Quinlivan issued a statement through her management agency on the same day, denying her ownership of the mentioned Weibo account, according to AsiaOne. She reportedly claimed that an impersonator created the account to spread the false message. She also announced plans to pursue legal action.
Chou’s management agency then shared this statement. Meanwhile, Chou responded by posting photos on his Weibo account, showing him and Quinlivan vacationing in London.
Chou, 45, is a celebrated Taiwanese singer-songwriter who made his debut in the entertainment industry in 2001. He has since achieved massive success, selling over 30 million records and ranking as one of Taiwan’s best-selling artists.
His career extends beyond music, as he is also known as an actor, businessman, and investor.
Quinlivan, 31, is of mixed heritage with a Taiwanese father and a mother of Chinese and Korean descent. She is actively working as a model and actress.
The couple went public with their relationship in 2014 and celebrated their union with a grand wedding in an old English castle the following year. They are parents to three children.
Throughout their relationship, Chou has been noted for his affectionate treatment of Quinlivan.
