According to statistics from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) and TC Motor, the car market in our country saw a slight growth in consumption in June. In the B-segment sedan segment, there were relatively optimistic signs, with only Mazda2 experiencing a decrease in sales.
In this segment, Honda City had the second highest sales growth (46%) in June, with 443 units sold. However, this result still places it in third position in the segment, behind Toyota Vios and Hyundai Accent.
Notably, Honda City is one of the models with the largest discounts in June. In addition to the 50% reduction in registration fees provided by the manufacturer, equivalent to a reduction of 28-30 million VND, the City also received additional cumulative discounts from dealers, helping reduce the selling price by up to 50 million VND for the RS version.

Hyundai Accent continued to be the best-selling product in the B-segment sedan segment in June, with sales reaching 968 units, up by 4.7%. This somewhat reflects the attractiveness of the upgrade to the new generation of this Korean brand, but the promotional factor should not be overlooked.
Launched at the end of May, the Hyundai Accent 2024 quickly received one of two promotions: 0% interest rate financing for 12 months or up to 50% off registration fees in June. This promotion is equivalent to a reduction of 22-28 million VND depending on the version.

Similarly to Honda City and Hyundai Accent, Toyota Vios also recorded an increase in sales in June, but only by more than 3 units. For the first half of 2024, the Japanese model sold a total of 4,215 units, ranking second in the B-segment sedan segment after the Accent.
The gap of nearly 800 units compared to the Hyundai Accent is not too large, but Toyota Vios will need a boost to break through, according to experts. At the beginning of March, the listed price of the Vios was reduced by 21-47 million VND depending on the version. This helped improve the sales of the Japanese model, but it still lags behind the Accent.
The 2024 Hyundai Accent has the highest price of 569 million VND, more expensive than the price range of the Vios (458-545 million VND). However, this variant of the Korean model mainly competes with the Honda City, which has the ADAS package, while the lower versions compete directly with the Vios and are cheaper (439-529 million VND).

Mazda2 was the only model in the B-segment sedan segment to see a decrease in sales in June (29%), but it still ranked fourth with 361 units sold. Following that was the Mitsubishi Attrage with a 30% increase in sales, reaching 277 units.
After the disappearance of the Suzuki Ciaz from the product lineup of the Japanese manufacturer, the Kia Soluto became the slowest-selling model in the B-segment sedan segment. In June, Soluto's sales reached 45 units, an 80% increase compared to May.
