Sliding door design makes getting in and out of the car more convenient, and doesn't require a lot of space when opening the door (Video: Mark Zuckerberg/Facebook).
Meta's CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the owner of the Facebook social network, visited West Coast Customs to create a unique Porsche Cayenne GT minivan for his wife - Priscilla Chan.
A basic Porsche Cayenne has interior space that meets the needs of most ordinary buyers. However, Zuckerberg believes that Priscilla may need more space and a sliding door design would be more convenient.
Zuckerberg shared images and a video on Facebook and Instagram of the Porsche Cayenne customized into a minivan that he had made for his wife. Thus, his 911 GT3 Touring now has a companion.

West Coast Customs in the US extended the body and wheelbase of the Cayenne, turning it into a limousine. The traditional door handles were removed and replaced with sliding doors on both sides, and there are larger rear wing vents.
The SUV now looks lower than the original, using black alloy wheels along with eye-catching yellow brake calipers.
The original car is a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, featuring a twin-turbo V8 4.0L engine, producing 631 horsepower before the upgrade, and 650 horsepower in the recent upgrade (facelift). It's not clear if the performance features have changed when converted into a minivan.

In his post, Zuckerberg describes his Porsche Cayenne GT Minivan as "something I'm sure should exist."
Porsche once experimented with the idea of a minivan when introducing the Vision Renndienst concept in 2018, but it was not put into actual production. Earlier this year, Peter Varga, Porsche's exterior design director, admitted he really liked this concept, but affirmed that it was just a personal opinion.
Luxury minivans are very popular in Asian markets, attracting more and more automakers to participate. However, it's hard to imagine Porsche expanding its product portfolio in this direction.
