According to Government Decree 109, from September 1st, domestically produced and assembled cars will receive a 50% reduction in registration fees for 3 months, extended until November 30th. This is the 4th time the government has implemented this policy, and unlike previous periods, some car manufacturers have not reduced their promotions.
Honda
In September, Honda Vietnam's promotion program saw significant changes. Specifically, the City and CR-V models were adjusted with proposed retail prices reduced by 40-80 million VND depending on the version, as follows:

After the price reduction, Honda City and CR-V are not supported with 50-100% registration fee reduction like in August. The reduction amount is not significantly different from the converted value of the previous incentives, but it has long-term benefits. Additionally, these two models (except CR-V e:HEV) are locally assembled so they qualify for the 50% reduction in registration fees according to Decree 109.
The new prices of Honda CR-V still make it the most expensive in the C-segment SUV category, but with the City, this adjustment provides an opportunity for the model in the last months of the year. The reason is that the starting price of the City has dropped below 500 million VND, at the same level as the highest version of the Accent (569 million VND).

Therefore, customers buying Honda City and CR-V (excluding the e:HEV version) in September will enjoy dual incentives, as these models are locally assembled. For imported models like the BR-V, HR-V, and Accord, Honda continues to maintain similar promotions as in August.
Specifically, Honda BR-V and HR-V receive 50% registration fee support; the Accord receives a direct discount of 220 million VND, reducing the price from 1,319 billion VND to 1,099 billion VND.
Toyota
Similarly to the previous month, Toyota Vietnam continues to apply a 50% registration fee promotion for Vios, Veloz Cross, Avanza Premio, and Yaris Cross in August. The support levels are equivalent to reductions of 23-33 million VND depending on the product, as follows:

In the 4 mentioned models, Toyota Vios, Veloz Cross, and Avanza Premio are locally assembled. Therefore, customers buying these 3 models in September will enjoy dual incentives up to 100% registration fee reduction, with reduction amounts ranging from 46-54 million VND, 64-66 million VND, and 56-60 million VND respectively.
For customers looking to buy on installment, all Toyota models still enjoy a preferential interest rate of 4.99% per year for the first 6 months.
With the dual incentives deducted from the selling price, the highest version of the Toyota Veloz Cross is priced at only 594 million VND, lower than the equivalent variant of the Mitsubishi Xpander (658 million VND) (Photo: Toyota).
Aside from the above two car manufacturers, Mitsubishi Vietnam is likely to continue offering similar promotions as in August. The company has not announced the September promotion program yet, but strategic products like the Xforce and Xpander (2 automatic versions) are fully imported, requiring incentives to maintain their market position.
