Greetings' VinFast VF 3, Wuling Mini EV receive discounts up to 60 million VND at dealerships

Despite being the cheapest car in Vietnam, the Wuling Mini EV has not exploded in terms of sales. Factors such as brand awareness, lack of technology, as well as the absence of fast charging stations, and more recently, the appearance of the VinFast VF 3 have increased pressure on this mini electric car.

As a result, dealers are offering significant discounts on the Wuling Mini EV. The level of discount varies by dealership, with most offering discounts ranging from 30-40 million VND. In particular, a sales consultant in Hung Yen said that his showroom is offering a discount of nearly 60 million VND for 2 Advanced versions (LV2), as detailed below:

After the discount at the dealership, the top version of the Wuling Mini EV is cheaper than the base price of the VinFast VF 3 (240 million VND).

The Vietnamese car brand's product has a competitive advantage due to its maximum range of 215km (the highest battery version of the Wuling Mini EV can reach a maximum of 170km) and VinFast's policy of free charging at VinFast charging stations for 1 year (applicable from July 1).

Moreover, the VF 3 also boasts some impressive features over the small electric car from China, especially in terms of DC fast charging support. In contrast, the VinFast mini car requires a specialized charger (estimated price of about 6 million VND) to charge at home as the VF 3's charging port only supports DC one-way current.

Experts believe that the recent price reductions for the Wuling Mini EV may be a preparation for the introduction of a new version. In early April, some dealers in the Hanoi area indicated that the 2024 version of this model would be introduced this year. This information has not been confirmed by TMT Motors.

In addition to some design changes, the Wuling Mini EV 2024 is expected to be upgraded with some equipment. The interior of the car will feature an 8-inch entertainment screen, the new generation engine will produce 40 horsepower and 92Nm (compared to the current version with 26.8 horsepower and 85Nm).

With such changes, the selling price of the Wuling Mini EV 2024 is expected to increase if brought to Vietnam. The new features promise to make this model more competitive with the VinFast VF 3 in the mini car race in the country. While the Mini EV already has a certain customer base, increasing sales will require more effort.
