VinFast announces the highest cost for replacing and repairing electric car batteries, up to 528 million VND

After announcing the VF 5 battery price, VinFast continues to list the high-voltage battery costs of other models, including the newly launched VF 3. Details of the battery prices for VinFast models are shown in the table below.

Therefore, the VF 3 is the VinFast model with the lowest battery price - 75 million VND. However, the company sells this product at a price of 240 million VND when renting the battery and 322 million VND when buying the battery, with a price difference of 82 million VND.

Some models such as VF e34, VF 7, VF 8, or VF 9 have more than one battery supplier option, such as SDI, CALT, Gotion, or VinES, so their prices may vary.

The price list also shows that VinFast has started supplying batteries for some of its electric vehicle models through the VinES brand (VinES Energy Solutions Joint Stock Company). Accordingly, models like VF 6 or VF 7 will use batteries produced by a subsidiary of VinFast.

In addition to announcing the battery costs, VinFast has also made public the battery repair price list. The main repair items will involve the positive BDU, negative BDU, main BMS, sub BMS, Pyro fuse, or battery housing. These components have prices ranging from around 8.5 million VND to nearly 44 million VND.

VinFast's transparent approach in disclosing battery prices and repair costs could help customers make more informed decisions such as purchasing a car, choosing insurance, etc. This is especially significant as the battery is a crucial and high-cost component in the production cost structure of an electric vehicle.

Currently, not many car manufacturers and distributors in Vietnam disclose the battery prices and repair costs for their models. Meanwhile, many car models integrate batteries, not just electric vehicles, including hybrids or plug-in hybrids from Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, among others.
