To prove this point, Chinese blogger Li Dazhui created a video documenting the process of selling his special edition Xiaomi SU7 Max founder's edition car.

He decided to sell the Xiaomi SU7 Max founder's edition because a friend told him that even though the car was used, it could be sold for a higher price than when he bought it new. This was partly due to scarcity, as the founder's edition is no longer in production.
The blogger had used the car for about 3 months, and when he decided to sell it, it had only clocked over 3,600km, according to the odometer. During his time using the car, he was rear-ended once, and there are still some visible marks left on the car.

In the video, Li Dazhui includes screenshots of an app showing the prices of various used Xiaomi SU7 cars. There was a SU7 Max with only 600km on the clock being sold for 343,000 Chinese Yuan (47,150 USD), and one with 1900km on it being sold for 335,000 Chinese Yuan (46,050 USD).
It seems like all of these were founder's edition models meant for the initial customers who pre-ordered the car.
The SU7 Max model has a new price of 299,900 Chinese Yuan (41,500 USD). Limited to the first 5,000 orders of Max and Standard SU7 cars, the founder's edition comes with some free upgrades, such as Nappa leather interior, 25 speakers, and a mini fridge.
Due to the car being rear-ended, Li accepted the price of 280,000 Chinese Yuan (38,500 USD) offered by a used car dealership in Beijing. In the video, Li mentions that the residual value of the Xiaomi SU7 is too high. He has never seen a used car commanded such a high price; almost equal to the price of a new car after 4 months of use.
Currently in China, the Xiaomi SU7 model is available in 3 versions; two Standard and Pro versions using a 400V platform with different battery capacities; the Pro version comes with a larger battery pack, offering a range of up to 830km per charge.
On the other hand, the Max version is equipped with an even larger battery pack, uses an 800V platform, two electric motors, and an ADAS driver assistance system based on Lidar sensors.
The cars are currently priced from 215,900 to 299,900 Chinese Yuan (29,900-41,500 USD).
A few days ago, the prototype SU7 Ultra was unveiled. This will be Xiaomi's first car to use a new electric motor system called HyperEngines, consisting of three electric motors, delivering 1,548 horsepower.
Capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in just 1.97 seconds, the SU7 Ultra will attempt to conquer the Nürburgring racetrack in Germany in October, with the goal of breaking the record set by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT - currently the fastest 4-door car on this track.
The high-performance electric car from Xiaomi is expected to hit the market in 2025.
