According to the industrial property ownership announcement published by the Vietnam Intellectual Property Office, some details of the car model have been copyrighted by Honda in our country. Experts believe that these details likely belong to the Honda HR-V 2024.

This registered model is considered an upgraded version of the HR-V currently being sold in Vietnam. Earlier this year, the 2024 model was introduced in Japan (named Vezel).

Some new details on the Honda HR-V (tentatively called the 2024 version) have been copyrighted in Vietnam (screenshot).

Registering the design copyright does not necessarily mean that the car will be brought to Vietnam. However, this is plausible, as the current Honda HR-V has been available in our country since 2022.

In this upgrade, the exterior of the Honda HR-V has undergone some minor changes. The grille is more square and compact, and the horizontal bars have been refreshed.

The Honda HR-V competes in the B-SUV segment, going up against names like the Mitsubishi Xforce and Toyota Yaris Cross (Photo: Honda).

Below, the front bumper has also been refreshed, integrating fog lights. At the rear, the taillights retain the overall design, but the interior interface has been redesigned, using full LED bulbs.

The interior of the Honda HR-V 2024 in Japan remains almost unchanged, with just a new center control cluster. Behind the steering wheel is still an analog gauge cluster combined with a small LCD screen.

The convenience features only have a few new points, such as the Honda Remote Operation feature, which allows remote control of the air conditioning, trunk opening/closing, and locating the car remotely; a car Wi-Fi connectivity system and digital key allowing smartphone unlocking/locking.

The active safety system Honda Sensing on the HR-V 2024 has added some features, including lane keeping assist, adaptive headlights, and minimizing damage from accidental acceleration.

In terms of performance, the car is likely to retain the 2 engine options when it comes to Vietnam. The first is a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, producing 119 horsepower and 145Nm of torque; the second is a 1.5L turbocharged engine, generating 174 horsepower and 240Nm of torque.

Regardless of the version, the car will still use a continuously variable transmission (CVT) automatic transmission, paired with front-wheel drive.

With the aforementioned changes, the selling price of the Honda HR-V 2024 is expected to slightly increase when it arrives in Vietnam. The current version is priced at 699-871 million VND, quite high in the B-segment urban SUV segment, often requiring around 100 million VND discount at the dealership to boost sales.

Thanks to active dealer discounts, the sales of the Honda HR-V are quite stable, ranking 3rd in the first 5 months of 2024. In fact, this Japanese model was the best-selling in its segment in January (Photo: Nguyễn Lâm).
